Director of Capital Access & Business Outreach

Pedro Soto Jr. serves as the Director of Capital Access & Business Outreach at the Bronx Economic Development Corporation (BXEDC), where he leads initiatives that expand access to capital, strengthen strategic partnerships, and connect entrepreneurs with the resources they need to build and grow successful businesses.

In his role, Pedro oversees business outreach efforts, develops educational programming, and collaborates with government agencies, financial institutions, and community-based organizations to create pathways for entrepreneurs to access financing, technical assistance, and business development services. He also supports BXEDC's lending initiatives by leveraging his background in underwriting, credit analysis, and capital structuring to help businesses become financing-ready.

Prior to joining BXEDC, Pedro served as a Certified Business Advisor with the New York Small Business Development Center (NYSBDC), where he advised more than 1,000 entrepreneurs and helped facilitate over $12 million in capital for small businesses. His work has supported business expansion, job creation, and economic development throughout New York City.

Pedro has partnered with organizations including the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Empire State Development (ESD), the New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS), chambers of commerce, community lenders, and nonprofit organizations to improve access to capital and strengthen the small business ecosystem. He is committed to developing collaborative programs that equip entrepreneurs with the knowledge, resources, and connections necessary for long-term success.
